why can someone taking war fin not be able to take any pain medication such as acetaminophen and elev?

Author: on blood war fin re blood clots left groin area also on hydramorph for hip pain and spinal stenosis. hydrmorph is not strong enough so have to resort to taking extra drugs over the counter. also have arthritis in knees spine feet and hands take 4 mgs prednison also for poly myaliga rheumatica

Taking some of the medications listed with the warifins could cause you to bleed to death inside or out because your blood will get to thin and not be able to clot
According to MedicineNet -”Warfarin interacts with many other drugs, including some vitamins. These interactions can be dangerous, even life-threatening. If you are taking Warfarin, talk to your doctor before taking any other prescription or over-the-counter medications”
From Consumer Drug Information “Do not take aspirin or other NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) unless your doctor has told you to. NSAIDs include celecoxib (Celebrex), diclofenac (Voltaren), ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), indomethacin, naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), piroxicam (Feldene), and others.These medicines can affect blood clotting and may cause serious bleeding in your stomach or intestines.”
Warfarin (or Coumadin, Jantoven) is an anticoagulant, so it will decrease the blood’s ability to clot. It’s usually used for people with clotting problems, risk for heart attacks or embolic stroke, or post-surgery.
Many analgesics like aspirin and ibuprofen are also antiplatelets and will further decrease the blood’s ability to clot which can result in serious bleeding disorders.
Warfarin (coumadin) is a blood thinner. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is probably the only OTC med that should be used for pain. Products like Aspirin and Motrin (Ibuprofen) affect the clotting cycle, which would only potentiate(make stronger) the effects of the Coumadin. Always check with your doctor before taking anything over the counter (OTC) when you are on prescription meds. Your pharmacist is also a good source for medication interaction information.
Warfarin or Coumadin is enhanced by aspirin and other drugs which causes hemorrhage. Aspirin by itself can cause both stomach or intestinal bleeding and with the blood thinning effects of warfarin, it is very dangerous, but ask your doctor about butazolidine or other drugs that may help with the arthritis. It is dangerous to mix drugs without your physician’s advice. There are many possible side effects. Now, I don’t know you but I am guessing that you lead a very quiet life…sitting in a chair, and not doing anything but getting older. The cause of your problems is probably that….no activity…that causes stasis (stopping) of the circulation and leads to clots (yes, other things can cause clots but with your other maladies, it is stasis). You need to slowly increase activity…walk a bit…move around…if you are overweight, lose a few pounds and get your health back….eat a few hot peppers a day and watch the joint pain disappear…come on, let’s get with the program…I am a physician, and you should follow the advice of your doctor!…You got to get healthy…
WAREFARIN IS AN ANTI COAGULANT.THEY INTERFEAR WITH THE SYNTHESIS OF VITAMIN K. SINCE IT S ALREDY AN ANTI COAGULANT,ACETAMINOPHEN WILL FURTHER ENHANCE BLEEDING,AS IT PROLONGS BLEEDING TIME.
the reason is a little complicated but the easy answer is that these medications are metabolized in the liver witch also controls a lot of your bleeding factors as these meds may harm the liver you are recommended not to take them
