Question by : Persistent, Severe Pain In Left Side Of Head. Had it for 12 years. Help please!?
Before you give your answer, please read my full description and symptom list. Thank you for your time and reading this… I hope I made it detailed enough – I am begging for help at this point!. I ask you to remember I’ve been to many, many different types of doctors over the course of 12 years (neurologists, internal med, rhuemotologists, eye doctors, etc).

The constant, severe pain started when I was 13 years old. I am now 26 years old. I lived in Indiana until I was 25. It started in October 1999 when I (as well as my twin brother and several class members) became ill w/ mono. During this time, we had a major fish kill in the White River in Indiana. We got a letter stating “Boil your water, especially for those w/ low immune systems.” My family had a flea infestation as well at the time. Unfortunately, I did not get any better. I developed constant, SEVERE pain in the left-side of my entire head (including: eye, jaw, teeth, ear, face, scalp, back of head, and neck) and ended up in the hospital in April 2000. I had an MRI, CT Scan, Lumbar Puncture (Spinal Tap), tons of blood work, etc done and all came up negative. I was discharged and to this day I am still looking for answers. I have gotten progressively worse. I have been told I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, migraines, Fibro, MS-like symptoms, Chronic Lyme Disease (blood tests for Lyme came back somewhat abnormal), etc. I also looked up Giant Cells (or Temporal Arteritis, which is incredibly rare). The pain is CONSTANT – it never leaves. It is from the moment I wake up to the moment I lie down.
