Rheumatoid arthritis is an ongoing, autoimmune disease in which the immunity of our body gets confused and begins attacking our own vital cells. The condition normally affects joints. Still it can clutch tendons, ligaments, and rest of the systemic organs too. There are various types of rheumatoid arthritis.

Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis is the rheumatoid arthritis which occurs in children less than the age of 16. In this type too, there are 3 types, namely pauciarticular, systemic and polyarticular JRA. In polyarticular JRA, five or more joints are attacked. This sort is one of the most crucial types of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and must be controlled promptly by strong medication. Pauciarticular JRA which is also named as oligoarthritis catches 4 or less than 4 joints and is caused comparatively more in girls than in boys. Systemic JRA which is also called Still’s disease is the type which begins with severe body temperature as well as rashes which take place and disappear abruptly and involve the internal systemic organs too. In all types of JRA, swelling, pain and stiffness of joints are the usual symptoms and it is advisable to find out and treat juvenile rheumatoid arthritison time so that the child will not encounter problems more in future.

Myositis is the medical term for inflammation of muscle tissue and one type of muscle arthritis is dermatomyositis. (Without the rash, the condition is called polymyositis.) In this form, there is soreness and inflammation and pain in the muscles but there is also an accompanying dry rash affecting the skin. This rash is commonly seen on the face and neck, chest and back and the shoulders. Heart muscle may also be affected as well as the lung tissues. It is usually dusky and a purplish red color.
